# The Subconscious Bard & Söderqvist's equivalent of *the unconscious* in classical psychoanalysis; the subconscious is on closer inspection not unconscious, but however chaotic and unstructured *vis-à-vis* the conscious, but it interacts both actively and reactively and both with and against the conscious all the time. The subconscious is driven by [[Mortido]] or the death drive, in contrast to consciousness which is driven by [[Libido]] or the will-to-life.
